Yakishime pottery is fired at high temperature without glaze.
The more you use the Yakishime pottery, the softer it feels and the more unique it becomes.
The pattern of cherry blossoms blooming in the blue sky is also drawn by Itchin’s technique, giving it a unique three-dimensional effect.
清水焼 (Kiyomizu-yaki) Kiyomizu ware is a type of Kyō ware which is traditionally from Gojōzaka district near the Kiyomizu Temple, in Kyoto.
The history of Kiyomizu ware dates back to the 16th century.
These tea cups are made by a Japanese craftsman 高田雅楽 Takada Garaku.
He was born in Kyoto in 1952
– He started to receive pottery awards since 1985
– In 1994, he exhibited Kyo-ware, Kiyomizu-ware exhibition in Paris.
– In 2002, he was certified as a national traditional craftsman.
At the back of the cups, there is a stamp of 高田雅楽 Takada Garaku.
