Crafted by renowned Japanese artisan 近藤清泉 (Kondo Seisen), these exquisite Yunomi tea cups embody centuries of craftsmanship.
Having inherited the kiln in 2009 from the first Kondo Seisen, he specializes in Mishima-de (incised patterns), Gohonde (soft hues with kiln effects), and Sukashi-bori (openwork carving)—techniques that give his creations a distinctive balance of precision and warmth.
Highlights:
– Subtle, beautifully shifting pale hues
– Hand-painted cherry blossom motifs against a rich reddish-brown base
– Artist’s stamp on the bottom, signifying authenticity
– Traditional Kiyomizu-yaki (Kiyomizu ware), a style with origins in Kyoto’s Gojōzaka district near Kiyomizu Temple, dating back to the 16th century
