Matcha Bamboo Whisk Brown

This Matcha Bamboo Whisk, known as 茶筅 (Chasen), is an essential utensil used in 茶の湯 (Chanoyu), the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. It is used together with a Matcha bowl (Chawan) and bamboo scoop (Chashaku) to prepare Matcha properly.

Made from natural brown bamboo, this chasen retains the bamboo’s original colour, offering a more rustic, earthy appearance while maintaining excellent performance. With 100 finely hand-cut prongs, it efficiently whisks Matcha into a smooth, creamy, and silky texture, helping to eliminate lumps and create fine foam.

Using a bamboo whisk, rather than metal or electric tools, preserves Matcha’s delicate flavour and results in a more balanced, less bitter taste.

Care Instructions
