In 茶の湯 (Chanoyu), the traditional Japanese tea ceremony, Matcha is prepared using specific bamboo utensils designed to respect the flavour and character of the tea.
The bamboo scoop, called 茶杓 (Chashaku), is used to measure Matcha powder before whisking.
Traditionally, two scoops of Matcha are placed into a matcha bowl, hot water (around 70–80°C) is added, and the tea is whisked with a 茶筅 (Chasen) to create a smooth, frothy bowl of Matcha.
Using bamboo utensils instead of metal helps preserve the delicate flavour of Matcha, resulting in a smoother, less bitter, and creamier taste.
This Chashaku is handcrafted from natural, organic, brown bamboo, without chemicals or artificial treatments. It measures the ideal amount of Matcha for daily preparation and is safe, lightweight, and comfortable to use.
