About the Pattern – 吹寄 Fukiyose
Fukiyose is a classic seasonal motif often used in Japanese tea utensils.
It depicts autumn leaves, ginkgo, pine needles, and other foliage being blown together by the wind, evoking the beauty of nature’s gathering in autumn. This elegant design not only symbolizes the changing seasons but also reflects the Japanese appreciation for transient beauty (wabi-sabi).

About the Artist – 八木海峰 Yagi Kaihou
This bowl is handcrafted and painted by renowned Japanese craftsman Yagi Kaihou, born in Kyoto.

• In 1968, he demonstrated ceramic painting in the presence of Her Majesty the Empress of Japan.

• In 1993, he exhibited Kyo-ware and Kiyomizu-ware in Paris, performing live painting demonstrations.

• In 2003, he was officially certified as a Traditional Craftsman and has since received multiple awards.

The base of the bowl bears the artisan’s seal 八木海峰 (Yagi Kaihou), a mark of authenticity and quality.
