This elegant Japanese sake set combines contemporary design with two of Japan’s most iconic traditional patterns, all finished in the same sophisticated charcoal grey glaze. Its modern appearance makes it a perfect addition to both Japanese and contemporary dining tables.
The set includes:
The tall sake cups create a sleek, modern silhouette, while the sake bottle features gentle indentations on two sides, making it comfortable and secure to hold when pouring.
This sake set is decorated with two auspicious Japanese motifs, each representing good fortune and prosperity.
Seigaiha (青海波 – Blue Ocean Waves)
The repeating wave pattern symbolises peaceful seas, happiness, and a wish for continued good fortune and prosperity.
Ichimatsu (市松 – Checkered Pattern)
This classic checkerboard design represents continuity, growth, and prosperity, as the uninterrupted pattern extends endlessly.
Together, these timeless patterns make this sake set both meaningful and elegant.
This sake set is handcrafted in Mino, Gifu Prefecture, one of Japan’s most renowned pottery regions.
Mino ware (美濃焼) has been produced for over 1,300 years and is one of Japan’s most celebrated ceramic traditions. Combining centuries-old craftsmanship with modern design, Mino ware is admired for its beauty, durability, and everyday practicality.
Warming sake enhances its aroma, sweetness, and umami, creating a smoother and more mellow flavour.
To prepare Atsukan (熱燗) at approximately 50°C:
Do not place the sake bottle directly on a stovetop or over an open flame.
