I have joined a group of ‘Kimono’ on facebook recently. There are almost 13000 people in this group they are mostly Japanese and when they wear Kimono they are posting in this group. It is nice to see pictures of people wearing Kimono since less and less people wear Kimono nowadays. Most Japanese including myself wear Kimono only for occasions, but in this group I find some people wearing Kimono on a regular basis and I also enjoy seeing some people wearing them in a different and new way but not traditional way.
I saw an interesting post in this group. When Lady Gaga attended a press conference for the launch of her new album “Joanne” in Tokyo, the recording company gave a surprise present to Lady Gaga during the press conference. It was a Silk Kimono from a Japanese Contemporary Kimono designer Jotaro Saito. The pastel color Pink Kimono was created just for Lady Gaga and it is the same color as Lady Gaga’s new album. She cried with an excitement!
