Japanese owl pottery bell Newly-weds

These owls are newly-weds.  They are red and white because 紅白 Kouhaku – a pair of Red with White is considered a lucky colour and this has been used for the New Year Celebration and weddings in Japan from a long time ago.

The area around the eyes and ears are painted in gold, and the owl sits on a stand with a wooden signature of the artist, which makes it more gorgeous.  Ideal for a gift.
